The ICHexhibition-2025 opened in the DPRK.
The exhibition is aimed at givinga better understanding of the time-honoured history and brilliant culture ofthe Korean nation and its fine manners and customs so as to add lustre to the excellentfolklore of the nation, and widely disseminating the successes and experience gainedin the protection of cultural heritage and relevant advanced technologies.
It has brought together morethan 80 units including the Agricultural Commission, the Korean Taekwon-DoCommittee, ministries of education, public health, physical culture and sports,culture, light industry and regional industry and the Guidance Bureau of PublicCatering Service. On display there are more than 100 national and local intangiblecultural heritage elements such as “Pyongyang cold noodles” and “Korean customof attire”.
An opening ceremony took placeat the Moranbong Youth Park on October 27.
Present there were Minister ofCulture Sung Jong Gyu and officials and researchers of relevant fields andexhibiting units.
At the ceremony the speakersaid that under the wise leadership and meticulous care of the respected ComradeKim Jong Un the system of unifiedguidance of the state over the protection of ICH has been established in betterorder and the work to unearth and verify a larger number of ICH elements has beenbriskly conducted, thereby achieving good results.
He called for making theexhibition a significant occasion in raising public awareness of ICH andcarrying forward and developing the excellent traditions and customs created bythe Korean ancestors as required by the times.
At the end of the ceremony theparticipants looked round the venue of the exhibition and saw a performance.
During the show there will be alsoan experience-sharing meeting.
