On October 1 1930, a hard core of membersof the revolutionary organization in the Onsong area gathered on not-so-high TuruPeak eight kilometres away from Mt Wangjae.

After exchanging greetings with membersof the revolutionary organization, Comrade KimIl Sung declared open a meeting to form a party organization for the firsttime in the homeland in line with the policy on party founding put forward atthe Kalun meeting.

He said that they gathered that day to formthe first party organization in the homeland by reflecting the demand for thedevelopment of the revolutionary movement in the country and revolutionary organizationsat a time when the Japanese imperialists intensified oppression and plunder of theKorean people more than ever before and stepped up the preparations for war toinvade Manchuria in full force.

His words strongly appealed to the heartsof the participants from the beginning.

Referring to the anti-Japanese strugglestaking place in different parts of the country, he said that all the struggles weredoomed to failure as they were not guided by the correct strategy and tactics,stressing that proper guidance by the party organization is essential for the successfulanti-Japanese struggle.

He noted that the formation of partyorganizations in the homeland was of great significance in laying thefoundations of the party to be founded in the country in the future.

He seriously analyzed the fact that inthe past factionalists founded the “party central committee” like a castle on thesand without mass foundation and brought it to an end with factional strife. Onlywhen we follow the path of forming the basic party organizations and expandingand strengthening them, instead of forming a “party central committee” with nofoundations at all, can we lay the firm foundations for party founding by carefullyselecting and training pure and fresh young communists, he said.

After giving detailed instructions on thetasks to be carried out immediately by the first party organization in thehomeland, he declared that the party organization in the Onsong area wasformed.

He then took out a red flag and unfoldedit.

Written on the red silk flag were lettersreading: "Long live the Korean revolution!"

Sayingthat the flag symbolized the victory of the Korean revolution, he ardentlycalled on the party members to invariably cherish the red mind they pledged tokeep before the revolution like the flag and dynamically advance towards thevictory of the Korean revolution, holding high this flag.

The red flag he held high fluttered hard inthe sky over Turu Peak.
