The Workers’ Party of Korea has convened important meetings in keeping with the requirements of the developing revolution and the changing circumstances, remarkably enhancing its leadership role through them. Not a few of them were held for the safety and wellbeing of the people.

In 2020 alone when the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world and serious natural disaster hit the country, nearly 20 Party meetings were held for public safety and wellbeing. In mid-May 2022 when an unexpected anti-epidemic crisis broke out, six Party meetings were held in succession, including the Eighth Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

In the wake of every meeting, the country’s emergency epidemic prevention system was further strengthened, measures were taken to recover from natural disasters, and the unity based on all-people voluntary action and the state’s capabilities to cope with crisis were further enhanced.

The Party’s steadfast outlook on the people ran through other Party meetings. Some of them discussed and decided on such issues as building 10 000 flats every year, 50 000 in all, in the capital city alone while stepping up housing construction throughout the country in the period of the new five-year plan and included the simultaneous building of advanced public health facilities, scientific, educational and cultural establishments and food storage facilities in the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, while others set it as Party’s major policy to supply the children across the country with nutritious foodstuffs such as dairy products at state expense and adopted it as an eternal state policy to supply school uniforms and bags to the students of the whole country.

The Korean people still remember the consultative meeting on regional economic development held in July last year on the seashore of Sinpho City, South Hamgyong Province which is located along the East Sea of Korea.

The flag of the WPK was put up in an ordinary tent, the venue for the consultation. The agenda items of the meeting covered the issues arising in sprucing up the Sinpho City Offshore Farm as a new model base for aquiculture and generalizing the experience gained in its construction to bring about a substantial improvement in the economic development of the coastal cities and counties and in the local people’s standard of living and in pushing harder on the implementation of the Party’s regional development policy.

The 11th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee held at the end of last year decided to build another offshore farm in another area on a trial basis on the basis of the experience gained in the construction of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm and took relevant steps.

The Party meetings served as occasions for further strengthening the people’s trust in the Party and hardening their will to throw in their lot with the Party forever.

The Korean people are vigorously stepping up socialist construction with the conviction that all their dreams and ideals will surely come true as they remain faithful to the leadership of the Party.
