Efforts are channelled into Taekwon-Do education in the DPRK.
Pyongyang Municipal Taekwon-Do College, Kangwon Provincial Taekwon-Do College, North Hamgyong Provincial Taekwon-Do College and other Taekwon-Do colleges across the country intensify Taekwon-Do education to instil into the students pride and self-confidence in the traditional Korean martial art that is growing in popularity for its original and diverse attack and defence techniques and strong power.
While focusing on the improvement of theoretical and practical education, they work to improve the performance of the students by developing programs and devices for measuring and assessing the speed, power and accuracy in carrying out technical movements and by adopting scientific training means and methods.
They have completed a competition analysis system and developed new and innovative approaches such as teaching of sparring based on light sensing devices.
Demonstration lectures and meetings for review of teaching are organized on a regular basis to adopt fine teaching experience and achievements, and reference books about Taekwon-Do theories, teaching, training and guidance are compiled, adding more to the students’ zeal for learning.
The ever-improving quality of Taekwon-Do education is highlighted by the annual national academic contest in the field of Taekwon-Do colleges.
