2025 was a historic year of transformation that is of great significance in the progress and development of Korean-style socialism.

The Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in late 2024 set it as the general orientation of the work for 2025 to successfully complete the five-year plan and push ahead with the preparations for the next stage of development in a substantial way.

In hearty response to the Party’s action programme all the people were single-heartedly out to bring about proud achievements simultaneously across the front of socialist construction.

Major industrial sectors of the national economy made progress, the agricultural sector registered a higher grain yield than 2024, and lots of construction projects were completed, with the five-year plan along with the economic development goals for 2025 fulfilled.

Another urban district came into being in the Hwasong area of the capital city of Pyongyang. Amid the implementation of the programme of the rural revolution in the new era, farmers moved into new dwelling houses, numbering well over thirty thousand, in hundreds of farms, and modern houses for miners sprang up in the Komdok area as well.

All the entities came up in the year when they had been planned, in such a way as to bring the phrase groundbreaking accompanied by inauguration into common use. This was a remarkable event in 2025.

The Ragwon County Offshore Farm was inaugurated in 190 days or so, Kangdong County Hospital was inaugurated as the first entity of modern regional hospitals in about 280 days, and the second inauguration season came round in the efforts to implement the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

Proclaiming inauguration in the year of groundbreaking is the standard speed of achieving our ideals, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said as he addressed the inauguration ceremony of Kangdong County Hospital in November last year. He added that this is just our mettle and the speed of transformation and advance which we are going to achieve amid an uninterrupted surge–the speed of Korea.

These achievements are inconceivable apart from the leadership of the Party which has set forth a clear-cut programme and tactics and inspired the entire population to display the spirit of creating new standards and new records on all the fronts of socialist construction.

Having successfully completed the five-year plan for the national economic development and laid foundations for dynamically entering into a new stage in 2025, the Korean people are making strides in their fresh advance towards higher goals.
