On May 31 2013, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Majon BathingBeach on the east coast of the DPRK.
While standing with arms akimbo feasting his eyeson the beautiful scenery of the beach, he asked the accompanying officials whatthey were as he pointed to the low-storey buildings among the pine groves onthe right side of the beach.
An official answered they were a seaside restaurantand camp buildings.
The General Secretary said that the number of the buildingsseemed to be small as compared with the large size of the recreation groundincluding the bathing beach. He readily grasped the biggest problem arising in therecreation ground.
After going steps in deep thought for a while, hesaid that the Majon Recreation Ground should be built on the world level as itis a favourite haunt of the Korean people, the best people in the world.
He continued to say:
President KimIl Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Ilalso instructed on several occasions that this recreation ground should bebuilt on the world level. I decided to build it into a people’s recreation groundas required by the new century in order to realize the lofty intentions of thePresident and the Chairman and provide our people with better conditions forcultural and leisure activities.
Listening to him in deep reverence, the officialsvisualized the happy looks of the people who would spend a pleasant time at thewonderfully built Majon Recreation Ground.
