Today, a large number of monumental structures for the wellbeing of the people are mushrooming in the DPRK.

Modern bases for cultural and leisure activities have been built in different parts of the country to the admiration of all people. They are associated with warm affection of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for the people.

The Korean people vividly remember the inaugural ceremony of the Rungna People’s Recreation Ground held in July Juche 101 (2012) in the presence of Kim Jong Un.

Looking round Rungna Dolphinarium, Rungna Water Park, courts for beach volleyball and basketball and other places in the recreation ground, the Supreme Leader said that it is the intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to provide the people, who have remained faithful to the WPK even in the face of all manner of difficulties, with larger numbers of best bases for cultural and leisure activities and ensure them enjoy all the benefits of socialism to their heart’s content.

To this end, he visited dust-swirling sites of building such establishments to give precious instructions. When those projects were nearing completion, he inspected them again to learn in detail about their conditions and took relevant measures lest the people should experience any slightest inconvenience.

When the Munsu Water Park was being built in the capital city of Pyongyang, he went over 113 designs for it. And when the Masikryong Ski Resort was brought to completion, he climbed up to the summit of Taehwa Peak on a chairlift in order to acquaint himself with its safety and convenience.

One summer day, an official asked him on a visit to the construction site of the Mirim Riding Club to refrain from his guidance trip in sultry weather in midsummer. At that time, the Supreme Leader declined the proposal, saying that he should do himself what he had to do for the sake of his people in spite of scorching weather.

He inspected Yangdok County in South Phyongan Province blessed with beautiful mountains, clear rivers and favourable geographical conditions over and over again in order to transform its spa area into a cultural recreation ground for the people.

In mid-August Juche 107 (2018) he went over documents on hot springs in a bid to develop and make effective use of many spas in the country, and made a long journey to the county at night with a plan to build a modern, comprehensive and model hot spring resort where people would enjoy recreation while receiving balneotherapy.

Despite heavy rain that day, he expressed great satisfaction at the sight of gushing hot water with a temperature of 80℃.

Yangdok County is the right place for building a spa resort and sanatoria for its high mountains lush with fresh verdure, clean air and picturesque scenery, he noted, personally designating the site for a general hotel, lodgings and other service facilities in the area. He also instructed to build various kinds of modern health complexes that offer diverse hot spring bath services, including individual and public baths, treatment baths as well as indoor and outdoor baths.

During several rounds of visit to the construction site last year, he said as follows: We are now carrying on a few projects for the cultural and emotional life of the people. It is not because we have now particularly advantageous conditions or we are abundant in life. It is aimed at providing our people, who are the best in the world, with the best and happiest life. We should carry out the final-stage project on the highest level and present the best resort to the people.

He cut the ribbon at the inaugural ceremony of the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort on December 7, 2019. He hardly repressed his happiness, saying that it has become possible to provide our people with a new culture, and that one more plan of the WPK to make our people enjoy high civilization under socialism as early as possible has come true.

Today the Korean people are paying the highest tribute to their Supreme Leader who unfolds one ambitious blueprint after another for their wellbeing by dint of his matchless creative ability, and turning out as one in the drive to develop their country into a socialist paradise in faithful support of his leadership.
