One Sunday in May Juche 97(2008), Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the then Kosan Fruit Farm.
While looking round the farm for a long time, he specified in detail important principles to be adhered to in fruit farming.
He pointed to the need to spread quality organic fertilizer to orchards in large quantities, develop fruit farming and animal husbandry in combination with each other and put fruit production on a scientific and modern basis by scientifically and technologically manuring and tending fruit trees and positively introducing advanced technologies. He noted that it is necessary to rationally combine early-ripening and late-ripening fruits in order to provide the people and service personnel with fresh fruits every season, adding that old fruit trees should be replaced in a planned manner and blanks refilled in time so as to turn the fruit farm into an ever-lasting “youth” orchard.
His earnest instructions reflected the warm paternal love of the Chairman who spared no pains to provide the people with fresh fruits in all seasons by transforming the farm more wonderfully.
