The great leader ComradeKim Il Sung visited the CentralSecurity Officers School under the Interior Bureau on August 22, Juche 37(1948).
Upon arrival, he heard from the headof the school that it arranged a sports contest and about the order and eachevent of the contest before seeing its students under training.
Whenever they presentedvigorous and lively movements in the playground, he applauded them beforeothers.
He told the school officials that students should study and train hard and also dosports well so as to build up their physical strength. He then told theaccompanying officials to arrange a match between cadres and the teaching staff of the school.
Then a shout of joyarose from the accompanying officials and the teaching staff. He asked them totry and said he would see who was good at sports.
Accordingly, a footballmatch was played between the teaching staff as a team and the cadres and hissuite members as the other team.
He saw the game withinterest as he appraised the playing of each official. After the match wasover, he told the officials that it is necessary to make sports part of dailylife among all youth, students and working people. In particular, he said,cadres should play sports so that all the officials could increase theirphysical strength and, through sports, develop a sense of organization anddiscipline and cultivate courage and resolution.
It was a very meaningfulinstruction serving as important guidelines in making sports mass-based andpart of everyday life.
