In June Juche 63 (1974), President Kim Il Sung met Peruvian personages on their visit to the DPRK.
He warmly greeted them and had a talk in an amicable atmosphere.
Saying that the whole world aspires after independence, he plainly explained the principle of independence maintained by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
No matter what policy other countries set, you should not interfere in it, he said. Referring to a fact of life, he added: If you want to drink coffee in the morning at home, you drink coffee, and if you want tea, you do it, in other words you can do anything as you like at home; if not, it is not a good home.
They greatly admired the way he explained with brilliant insight and profound logic the issues arising in adhering to the principle of independence in revolution and construction.
Towards the end of the talk, they said that back home they would give wide publicity to the Juche idea put forward by the President. Kim Il Sung earnestly instructed them to conduct publicity activities in a Peruvian way in conformity with the situation in Peru.
Once the then Togolese President visited the DPRK.
The president expressed his admiration and envy at the revolutionary spirit and happiness of the Korean people rallied closely around their leader.
His country won political independence free from the yoke of imperialism, but he was facing difficulties at every step. In order to give him strength and encouragement, Kim Il Sung made sure that everything he wanted to see was shown to him and any demand he made was satisfied.
Saying that economic self-sufficiency serves as the material foundation for political independence, he highly praised Togolese people for having nationalized the natural resources of their country.
He stressed that without building an independent economy run by their own resources, technology and cadres, they could neither foil the economic pressure of the imperialists nor defend their political sovereignty.
Listening to him, the Togolese President realized that the only way for his country to go lies in implementing the line of independence, self-sufficiency and self-defence by relying on the strength of his people.
