Wreaths were laid at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri and the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on September 8 on the occasion of the 76th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
The guard of honour of the Korean People's Army lined up at the cemeteries.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Jo Chun Ryong, Jon Hyon Chol and Pak Thae Song, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, and officials of the WPK Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Cabinet and armed forces organs.
Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, wreaths in the names of the WPK Central Committee, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK were placed on the wreath-laying stands of those cemeteries.
All the participants paid silent tribute to the memory of the martyrs who devoted their all to the independence and sovereignty of the country and the victory of the socialist cause, remaining true to the Party's leadership.
