The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea took place in April 2019.
In his concluding speech at the meeting, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the basic spirit of the plenary meeting is that the entire Party, the whole country and all the people should courageously wage an all-out campaign to bring about a great upsurge in socialist construction by taking self-reliance as a treasured sword for prosperity now that the building of an economic power is raised as the main political task.
Only when we further consolidate the country’s economic power on the principle of self-reliance, he said, can we defend the dignity of the state and the people and dash forward more quickly towards the set target.
He added that self-reliance and self-supporting national economy are the bedrock of the existence of the Korean-style socialism, the motive force of its advance and development and the eternal lifeline decisive of the destiny of the Korean revolution.

His remarks embody the precious truth that when one fully displays the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, they would fear no difficulties and trials and always win victory.
