A new era of stirring changes and prosperity is being ushered in throughout the DPRK. This is an era of great turn and changes brought about by the ennobling idea on state-building of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The WPK’s state-building idea is about building a state that is developing with science and technology and thriving with advanced civilization based on solid politico-ideological foundation. In other words, it means to build a state that has achieved the ideological unity of whole society and cohesion of the entire people in action, a state that advances mainly by developing science and technology and attaching importance to talents, and a state in which noble and beautiful human relationship prevails and sound morality and culture have been established as national traits.

The past four-year course of advance true to the decision of the Eighth Party Congress is adorned with vigorous progress and transformations that the WPK has brought about by dint of the people’s strength, technology and redoubled efforts while translating its state-building idea into brilliant reality.

Overall national strength has been ever strengthened as the single-minded unity, a source of the invincible might of Korean-style socialism, has been further cemented and new development, Korean-style civilization, befitting a powerful country has been created.

Every year large architectural groups epitomizing modern civilization have sprung up in the capital city of Pyongyang and modern rural houses have been built in different parts of the country, fully demonstrating its potential and capability for development.

In the first year of the implementation of the new regional development policy, modern regional-industry factories mushroomed in 20 cities and counties across the country, and cultured rural towns were built in a little more than four months in the flood-stricken areas of Sinuiju City and Uiju County in North Phyongan Province. This made the Korean people more self-reliant in overcoming difficulties, no matter how enormous they may be.

The scientists and technicians are making great contributions to national prosperity by proactively solving the urgent sci-tech problems arising in the development of the national economy and improvement of the people’s living standards.

Projects for readjustment and reinforcement have been pushed ahead across the national economy, and remarkable progress has been made in cultural construction, especially in education, literature and the arts and sports, thus arousing the fighting spirit of the people.

A quantum leap has been made in the efforts to build up the capabilities for firmly defending the security of the country and people. With constant development of Juche-oriented weapons, the DPRK’s military forces are demonstrating their matchless might before the world.

The people are in high spirits as they are implementing the WPK’s state-building idea.

They are aligning their ideal and aspiration to the intention and idea of the Party Central Committee, regarding it as their lifetime mission to implement the Party’s line and policies. Thanks to their enthusiasm of loyalty and patriotism, the WPK’s state-building idea is being brought into brilliant reality.
