One day in last August the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the completed Ragwon County Offshore Farm and the modern fishermen’s residential district built in it.
True to his plan for regional development, soldier-builders built the farm equipped with modern and advanced production facilities, as well as a fishermen’s village in which low- and single-storey houses of various styles and neighbourhood-serving amenities blend in well with the surrounding landscape—both in more than 190 days after starting the project.
Feasting his eyes on a picturesque panorama of Ragwonpho, Kim Jong Un expressed satisfaction over the fact that a wonderful offshore farm and a fishermen’s village were built in Ragwon County, which is one of the smallest counties in the country and had a weak economic foundation, adding that the county turned into the one with a bright prospect of development and it goes well with the name “Ragwon” (paradise) in the true sense of the word.
He went on to say that the amazing speed of creation at which the most backward county in the country has developed into the one with a strong economic foundation in a little over half a year would be specially recorded in the history of the regional-industry revolution in the new era and the growth and development of the DPRK and if such a remarkable speed of advance continues, our state would soon greet a great change of national magnitude in the near future and it would serve as a powerful driving force for hastening the complete victory of socialism.
Looking round the fishermen’s residential district, he highly appreciated that all the buildings erected in Ragwonpho are the outcome of the high ideological preparedness and redoubled efforts of our army upholding the Party policy on regional development with absolute loyalty and devoted struggle.
We should never be satisfied in the work for the people, and even though the production buildings and dwelling houses erected here are excellent, wonderful monumental entities that surpass them should be constructed in the future, he noted.
