The regional-industry factories, which have been built as the first entities of the implementation of the regional development policy in the new era, are producing quality products.
The Kusong City Foodstuff Factory in North Phyongan Province has developed over 60 kinds of new products in a little over half a year by relying on its favourable natural and geographical conditions and economic foundations backed by abundant wild fruits and well-developed pomiculture.
In particular, the demand for such foodstuffs as fermented tea drinks, pear jam and wild grape syrup is increasing daily as they are good for human health and peculiar in taste and aroma.
By using locally available raw materials, the Yonthan County Daily Necessities Factory in North Hwanghae Province turns out a variety of quality products including laundry soap, dishwashing detergent, powder soap, shampoo, conditioner and liquid laundry soap.
Growing is the demand for clothes produced by the Hamju County Garment Factory in South Hamgyong Province.
Among them, spring and autumn trousers and nightclothes are the most popular among women.
The factory has equipped itself with modern knitting equipment to make various styles of knitwear.
It makes a point of inquiring into what kinds of knitwear are in great demand and what colours and styles the customers like most before choosing for production those items highly appreciated through group discussions. Such products are sent to commercial outlets.
Similar efforts are being made by the Jangphung County Foodstuff Factory in Kaesong Municipality, the Tongsin County Foodstuff Factory in Jagang Province, the Ichon County Daily Necessities Factory in Kangwon Province, the Kim Hyong Jik County Garment Factory in Ryanggang Province, the Unchon County Garment Factory in South Hwanghae Province and other new factories in different regions.
