The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said in the speech at the New Year 2026 celebration that he will never exchange for anything else the dignity and glory of living for our great people and waging the revolution for them, and live up to the expectations of all the people in the new year, too, by always remaining faithful to the socialism of their choice, to the sacred ideal of the people-first principle and to the dignity, rights and interests of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
On several previous occasions he vowed before the sacred national flag that he would always remain infinitely faithful to promoting the people’s wellbeing and the growth and development of the state, and strive harder to faithfully live up to their trust, keeping the love for them.
True to his promise, he devoted himself to promoting public welfare last year, too.
Early last year groundbreaking ceremonies for various projects took place successively in 20 cities and counties of the country, and modern hospitals, leisure complexes and regional-industry factories were inaugurated at the end of the year.
In the capital city of Pyongyang, the third-stage 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area and the Pyongyang General Hospital were inaugurated and the construction of the fourth-stage 10 000 flats in the same area is at the final stage, revealing its full appearance. The Ragwon County Offshore Farm and the fishermen’s village and the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area were built on the east coast, followed by modern hotels in the city of Samjiyon. With a large number of rural houses with Korean-style charms and features built across the country, house-moving ceremonies went all the year round.
