Students at the Economics Faculty of Kim Il Sung University paid a visit to the house of Professor and Doctor Ri Ryon Hui to celebrate the March 8 International Women’s Day. They gave her bouquets to extend congratulations.
Ri Ryon Hui studied at the same faculty of the university and attended a postgraduate course. In 1992 she began to teach at the university, and then worked as a section chief and department head. She is now director of the Economic Management Institute.
She has made many successes in research work to solve the practical problems arising in economic management. Building on it, she contributed to raising the quality of education and realizing the integration of education and research.
She also published dozens of papers including “Study of demographic methodology,” pioneered such subjects as demography and recycling, and trained a large number of talents.
Her lectures on national economic management, social statistics and other subjects are focused on down-to-earth matters rather than on theories. Students say that her lectures are easy to understand.
Ri does not merely transfer knowledge to her students. She tries her best to make them value the country and cultivate love for it.
Sometimes she is a strict teacher putting great demands on students, and other times she is like a gentle mother, which earns her their full respect. They call her “our teacher.”
On her birthdays and holidays her house is full of excitement with visiting students and disciples.
They say in unison: “We respect you” and “Congratulations.”
