Informatization institute No. 1 of the Pyongyang Technology Corporation was selected as one of the top ten IT businesses of 2024.
The IT products developed by the institute in recent years have been highly appreciated at national sci-tech festivals, national exhibitions of IT achievements, and advanced science and technology and products shows.
Among them are Ullim-series wi-fi products.
The Ullim-series products, a set of local area network, video monitoring system and distant data transmission system, can be used to build intranets without any additional work including cable networking, and their high speed and reliability facilitate their smooth management and operation. They have been introduced into Moranbong Middle School No. 1 and other schools in Pyongyang, plus several mines in South Hamgyong Province, thus proving effective in putting education on an IT footing and realizing the digitization of the national economy.
The institute developed a highly sophisticated control unit—programmable logic controller—in an original way.
The device can perform high-speed computing and communications, program editing and translation in conformity with international standard protocols and other advanced functions, and provide perfect security and diverse communications protocol support. Now the institute is pushing ahead with a project to introduce it into regional-industry factories to be built anew.
It also developed multi-language machine translator Ryomyong 2.0 and word processing software Changdok 2.2 for smart phones which are gaining popularity.
At present it holds a dominant position at home in the field of multi-language machine translation technology.
Ryomyong 2.0, based on deep learning technology and designed for two-way translation of English-Korean, Chinese-Korean, Russian-Korean, Japanese-Korean and German-Korean, makes it possible to translate technical terms at a high degree of accuracy.
AI-based Changdok 2.2 is a new version of office program that ensures effective office work, business management and foreign language learning on mobile phone.
“We will develop more diverse high-tech products by relying on our competent development force and rich technical experience,” said Jang Kyong Chol, director of the institute.
