The Intangible CulturalHeritage Exhibition-2025 recently took place on Moran Hill in Pyongyang amid thegreat expectations and interest of the people across the country.
On display at the exhibition were the Koreanorthodox martial art Taekwon-Do, ssirum(Korean wrestling), archery, yut gameand others to attract the deep interest among the visitors.
According to an official concerned, ssirum and Taekwon-Do took a specialplace in showing the working life and social customs of the Korean people atthe exhibition, which was divided into social customs and rites and customs of workinglife.
During the exhibition ssirum and archery, which were played by way of demonstration and real experience,were the focus of visitors’ attention.
Ssirum, which was shown by making visitors directly experience various playing techniques, washighly appreciated at the exhibition as part of traditional culture with a longhistorical root and a valuable cultural heritage element of the Korean nation.
And Taekwon-Do, which reflects the soul andspirit of the tenacious and strong-willed Koreans, left a deep impression onthe visitors.
From olden times, the dauntless and righteous Koreanpeople have followed it as an established custom to build strong fists.
As it demonstrates the high spiritual andphysical strength of the Koreans who have built their body and mind to repulseany attacks of the invaders, Taekwon-Do has made its name as a source of prideand honour of the Korean nation along with its history spanning thousands ofyears.
Every country or nation has its martial artheritage, but the Korean Taekwon-Do is now widely disseminated across the worldas a world-class and most scientific and powerful martial art under the wiseleadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Therefore, Taekwon-Do made a deepimpression on the people as one of the most popular heritage elements in theexhibition and a precious cultural treasure of the country that instils into themthe greatest pride in their own once again.
