More than 530 schools, branch schools and kindergartens in different parts of the country have been newly built or renovated, and multi-functional classrooms are on steady increase this year as part of the effort to improve educational conditions and environment.
Officials of the Ministry of Education and relevant areas dynamically organized the work to finish the projects on schedule while solving knotty problems in time.
Officials and working people in Pyongyang, North Hamgyong and Jagang provinces pushed ahead with the construction and renovation of schools, branch schools and kindergartens.
Pyongyang, the capital city, improved the appearance of many schools, branch schools and kindergartens by building or renovating Hongchon and Yondae branch schools of Ryongsan Technical Senior Middle School in Mangyongdae District, Ryugyong Primary School in Pothonggang District, Rungna Kindergarten No. 1 in Taedonggang District and others by ensuring the supply of materials according to the scientific phased plans.
The city of Hoeryong, Yonsa County and other cities and counties of North Hamgyong Province set a goal to build or renovate all branch schools in the province as required by the standard design, regularly acquainted themselves with the progress of the projects and enhanced the role of supporting organizations, thus finishing the projects ahead of schedule.
Jagang Province also pushed ahead with the projects by building up the construction workforce and tapping internal reserves and potentials.
Progress has also been made in the work of putting education on a modern and IT basis on a higher level.
Rason Municipality was the first across the country to finish the building of multi-functional classrooms above middle level.
Nampho Municipality prepared educational equipment and teaching aids and tools with sincerity and sent them to schools, branch schools and kindergartens in the city.
Officials of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport provided equipment and materials needed by Pyongyang College of Electric Engineering, Nampho College of Marine Transport and other colleges.
