When you visit the regional-industry factories newly built in 20 cities and counties as the first entities of regional rejuvenation, you can hear the locals exclaim, “Our own products are the best!”
This is the sincere voice of the local residents.
Since the new regional factories began to turn out products, endless streams of customers have flowed into the shops not only in the townships and but also in ris tens of kilometres away from them. They are all happy with the products with their own brands.
People of Songchon County in South Phyongan Province boast chestnut jam, honeyed chestnut, chestnut jelly and other chestnut products, while those of Jaeryong County in South Hwanghae Province are proud of their local products like bar rice cake, soybean oil, pear juice, apple juice and others, saying they are not inferior to those from central factories in package, taste and quality.
It is the aspiration and goal of the employees of the regional-industry factories across the country to make all their products perfect and excellent so as to be favoured by inhabitants in their localities.
Those at the foodstuff factories are steadily improving their technical knowledge and skills while trying to master how to operate equipment in their charge and how to manage the proceedings in moisture content, sugar content and temperature of dough.
In the course of this, they have developed new products including buttered sponge cake and cream biscuit and increased the variety of soda, hot pepper paste and soy sauce among others.
Daily necessities factories produce transparent, soft-coloured soap, dish detergent and various kinds of plastic goods.
Quality plastic pipes of various sizes produced by the factories are widely used at rural house construction sites.
Different styles of clothes made by garment factories are enjoying popularity among local customers.
A farmer of the Samjigang Farm of Jaeryong County in South Hwanghae Province said that the whole village is enlivened every day as the ri shop is filled with goods to be envied by even those in the cities, adding that her folks are actually benefiting from the Party’s regional development policy and they are determined to repay the benevolence of the Party with increased grain production.
