Attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth-stage project to build 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area held in February this year, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said: The housing construction site in the Hwasong area is vivid proof of the people-first politics and a clear symbol of our cause that is making a more vigorous advance and higher leap forward day by day towards the goal of a powerful country.
The phrase vivid proof of the people-first politics reflects the warm sincerity of Kim Jong Un who has readily shouldered the heavy burdens for the people’s welfare in the most trying days and his firm faith and determination to develop his country as early as possible into a prosperous power in which people’s dignity and happiness are fully guaranteed and realized.
As he cherished it as his greatest wish to solve the housing problem, the settlement of which the people are longing for most of all, at the highest level, he made public a plan to build 50 000 flats in the capital city―10 000 flats a year―at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January 2021. He attended the groundbreaking ceremonies held every year and expressed his wish for the more civilized and happier future of the people.
He gave frequent field guidance to the construction sites of the dwelling houses. Thanks to his painstaking efforts entities of great creation and change have mushroomed on this land and the people are enjoying a high civilization and better life with a marked improvement in their living standards.
Over the years hostile forces made unprecedentedly desperate attempts to check the progress and development of the DPRK. Worse still, Covid-19 broke out as the worst public health crisis the country had ever faced in its history while natural disasters hit it for several years running. However, no difficulties and setbacks could check him in his devoted effort for the people.
Under his leadership new urban districts sprang up in the capital city of Pyongyang, Songhwa Street, the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District, Hwasong Street, Rimhung Street, Jonwi Street and the third-stage urban district in the Hwasong among them.
Each of the monumental edifices is associated with his fervent love for the people. He is always on the road of devoted service for the people, always aiming higher and higher not content with achievements.
