On August 8 2015, the DPRK womenfootballers were to play the 2015 EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup final afterwinning all games.
At that moment, the respectedComrade Kim Jong Un was on the field inspection tour of a region. He willingly exposed himself to therain with a quite satisfied look, saying delightedly that it was raining fromthe clear sky of the DPRK and he felt the rain as confetti wishing its womenfootballers victory in the match of the day.
Busy as he had been with allkinds of state affairs, he had called a senior official of the footballassociation by phone on the evening of the day when they played the semifinalmatch and late after midnight a few days later to givedetailed instructions on how to play the next match well.
Onthe night of that day when the final match was played, he watched the livebroadcast of the match from the beginning to the end. He was so excited that heexclaimed, “We won!” and said that the women footballers of the country were admirableand they were ever-victorious.
With a beaming smile on his face,he said with excitement that he felt like hugging and piggybacking the womenfootballers and their head coach. Thenhe instructed officials to arrange well the welcoming work for the players.
Aftera while, he saw the accompanying officials and told them that he wanted thewomen footballers to drape themselves in the national flag and get off theplane.
Thefollowing day he called the officials to put an emphasis on the event to welcomethe players again. He told them again to send the national flags to them byplane so that the players could drape them over their shoulders when gettingoff the plane.
As a result, the national flags weremade and sent to the women footballers and coaches by air and a touching sceneunfolded where they returned to the homeland, the embrace ofthe great father, draping themselves in the national flag.
