As he regards the education of the rising generations as an important work for promoting the development of the country, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un always pays close attention to it.
One day in September 2020, he visited the seat of Kangbuk-ri, Kumchon County, North Hwanghae Province, which had been severely hit by flood. After looking round the reconstructed village with pleasure, he dropped in at Kangbuk Senior Middle School.
Looking at the school, he said with satisfaction that it was built wonderfully, that there would be no school like this in other rural villages, and that it is important to ensure that children grow up in good educational conditions and environment while nurturing high ideals.
After a while, he said: Whereas farming is aimed at obtaining food for a year, education is an undertaking of training talents for the country with an eye to 50 or 100 years in the future. In this sense, school differs from farm fields, and it should be built with an eye to the distant future. Officials should have a correct outlook on the rising generations and direct efforts to education. President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il devoted their all to children. Their outlook on the rising generations is a model of noble patriotism to be followed by officials. Bringing up the rising generations well is a patriotic work and an expression of patriotism possessed by the officials.
Always regarding the education of the rising generations as an overriding issue, Kim Jong Un visited the April 25 Hostel on August 16 last year and watched a demonstration lesson for a class of primary school pupils, which was organized as part of the preparations for new-term teaching of the children and pupils of the families of the flood victims from North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces. While looking round the classrooms temporarily laid out in the hostel for junior and senior middle school students, he earnestly called for paying special attention and sincerity to the students so that they can focus on their studies because all of those, who are to study there, are children the people in the flood-hit areas left in the care of the Party and the government, placing their wholehearted trust in them.
Then he said he was very pleased to see the cheerful children in new school uniforms, adding that the children’s laughter is the dynamic breath and vibrant spirit of the advancing country and a symbol of the mightiness of the Korean-style socialism.
